Do the broad strikes bring any value?

  2. "Sorry but still not quite close up enough to tell. One way you can tell is if there is raised metal where the crack is then it's probably a die crack. If it looks sunken in (incuse) then it's probably a post strike damage (PSD) scratch. Also with PSD there will be raised metal on each side of the scratch so don't let that confuse you. We all understand the struggles with taking pics! Do you have a loupe or other magnifier that you can hold up to your camera lens to magnify the image?"

What you have is a cent struck by slightly misaligned dies (MAD) they are pretty common and these do not command a premium unless part of the design is cut off.

Below is information from our glossary and also a link to error-ref.com regarding broadstrike

Misaligned Die: This refers to a coin that was struck by dies that were not in correct position in relation to each other. A coin struck by a misaligned die can be determined by noting a difference in its relative centered-ness between the obverse and reverse of a coin. Below is an example of a cent struck by slightly misaligned dies. These do not command a premium unless the misalignment is severe enough to have part of the design cut off. Totally agree with Viv.
A very good example for always posting images of both sides of a coin.
Sometimes the second side may provide information necessary to provide a definitive answer.
