Welcome to the LCF!! That would be a die chip. Let me find you some info on that. These were pretty common I think with 55's.

    From our glossary. (http://www.lincolncentforum.com/term...-d/#Die%20Chip)

    From Error-Ref (http://www.error-ref.com/?s=die+chip)

Check this out for what a CUD is on Cuds on Coins. Browse the different dates to get a feel for them. (http://cuds-on-coins.com/lincoln-cen...-1909-present/)

It is cool!! All in time, you will learn much if you hang here. I'm a newbie too so just be patient, listen to folks because there are some very smart individuals here and much will fall into place over a period of time that is right for you. There are a lot of folks that search for particular things, some varieties and some different types of errors, myself, I tend to like them all. One of the best things I can tell you is to look at other peoples posts and you will learn more than you can know! Again, welcome to the Forum and don't be afraid to ask questions.
