Needing some help from our RPM guru's please! I can't find a match for this one and I have searched Coppercoins, Variety Vista and Wexler! This is the second one of three that was a gift from one of our awesome members! This gift has given me a much deeper appreciation for what you guys have to know and research in order to attribute them!
I have studied all of the east hook varieties listed and the reason this one seems different is... the hook is longer and straight than the other ones I saw that were either smaller and/or curved. It also has the vertical bar inside the primary mint mark, but no split serifs that I can see.
Thank you very much for taking a look and helping!
Dan, I think that's it! Since I can't see the lower split serif on this one I would not have thought to check it. The die scratches at the date on my coin are faint but they look to be going in the same direction as the Coppercoins 028 photo. No other markers showing up for me. Thank you!
Thank you Dan! I may have some die scratches at the date, let me go take a quick look! Otherwise no die cracks or chips on this one, unless they are small ones that circulation wear has worn down.
The listing looks good! Yes it was a Fresca plus night and up way past my normal bedtime! You still have one more RPM?
LOL Jon, geez... it must have been the "plus" that did it! Yes Sir, one more RPM and it really has me stumped!? Let me get some coffee down and I'll get it posted for some much needed assistance!
So I learned something very valuable from Doc Dan on this RPM! I wasn't seeing the lower split serif on this RPM because circulation wear has smoothed it over, therefore I ruled out the very RPM that it was! Thank you very much Doc Dan!
