Answered: Do you think Slide MD can cause this much damage?

This 2019P was in a roll of uncirculated 2019P's (Fed Rolls). I've never seen MD, or Slide MD to this extent... is that what this is? I saw several more in the roll with MD just on the L, no other ones like this.

I was going to use the Ray System but the battery was dead... charging until tomorrow.

To me it looks like a struck thru... The other coin you mentioned - are those from the same die as this one??? To answer your question - yes slide MD can do that and more... Here is Error Ref info... Hope that helps!!!

I was also thinking this might even be a small recessed planchet flaw in the IB area juding by the field around IB. Lack of metal might affect metal flow into the devices of LIB.
Looks like Wills striations going NE to SW inside the B are parallel with the ones on the east side of LI.

I would say struck through. It appears to be basically a grease mediated smear, that was localized to that one area.

Thank you Rowdy, Jim and Cliff for looking at this! Jim, thank you for the link! Wow, that is some severe slide MD to Lincoln's face! I pulled 11 more out of this roll that had slide MD on just the L, I will check to see if I can tell if they are from the same die.

Cliff, my battery is charged so let me get a few more pics to maybe see what you are thinking about. Thank you!

Thank you Jody! That is a struck through that I've never heard of. There is something similar to a much lesser degree to the left of the R but nothing else on the obverse face of the coin.

Here are some updated Ray System pics. Jim, this one we're looking at does not have any verifiable markers so no way to tell if the others in the roll with slide MD just on the L are from the same die.
