    newly discovered strong trail die

    Additional Information
    Date: 1988

I received an email tonight about attributing and listing a newly discovered 1988 reverse trail die. It is quite bold as to make me wonder how it wasn't discovered previously! I will post images as soon as I have it in hand.

Cool Will, we'd like to see it! Yeah, there are only 15 - 1988P reverse trail dies listed. Considering how many 1988P reverses have been looked at for RDV-006's you'd think we have seen them all! I think 88's are about as bad as 83's when it comes to over polishing. My guess is this one has minor die abrasion so the trails are more visible!

Good educated guess and interesting comment. From the pics the finder sent, it is a nice clean die and a BU cent. (Gotta love that) It does, however, have our planchet striations that I recent;y wrote about. These striations do run perpendicular to the trails, so they may be accentuating their visibility. You're a thinker.
