    1915-D DDO-1 ???

    Additional Information
    Date: 1915
    Variety: DDO
    Mint: Denver
    Coneca: DDO-1
    Coppercoins: 1DO-1

The date/mm orientation lines up quite well with DDO-1, but because the actual doubling area [below the L in LIBERTY] looks slightly different I am interested to find out if this could actually be DDO-1.

Not much to go with on either site: VV CC W

I have a 1916-D with a similar mark in the same area that I may need to post based on the outcome of this.

Thank you for any assistance you can provide.

They are extremely similar and could see why you would have pause. I think you have deterioration at your "L" though and your mm looks slightly higher. Let's see what the pros say.

This definitely looks like a bar L variety. When BJ Neff was doing the research on these, we came up with quite a few examples for the teens. Exactly which one it is, I don't know, but an overlay on yours might confirm it is DDO-001.

I do not know if it is a bar L??? I think your MM is to far north for 001??? On 001 the bar goes way up on the horizontal bar leaving just a small gap between the top of the bar and top of the Ls horizontal bar... On yours there is a significant larger gap that even in a later die stage should still be consistent with 001s, VV and CC???
