    civil war token

I've been long interested in this civil war token for obvious reasons. Does anybody know of any avenues that might prove successful? Just throwing it out there. Thanks. Screenshot_20211110-145212_Firefox.jpg

See them every once in a while. The ones with the horse on them go for way more than the eagle

Like all things – there is a slight difference between what you posted, and what is considered a civil war token. That’s because store cards, get confused with hard times tokens which get confused with patriotic and fund-raising tokens specifically for the war’s efforts. But some folks “collect them all” while others get very specific. Yours is a store card I think. I collect this one store card because a friend of my is the great great great great granddaughter of the MF BERIN. As they say, buy the book before the coin…you may want to purchase one of many resources first to identify your search. They are getting more popular to collect. A big collection was recently sold this year by Bowers/stacks, likewise Heritage has them, but again, you have to know what you're searching for first. Good Luck.

The same one Will posted has and eagle and some have a horse on the them. Both are WM Brooks. Those are the only ones that I found but like I said, the horse one went for way more than the eagle and was listed as an R9 rarity. Are you looking to buy one or looking for info?

Here are some sites that might prove helpful.
I'm guessing you may already be aware of them but thought I'd throw them out there just in case.

Civil War Token Society - http://cwtsociety.com/

    Coinhelpu - http://coinhelp.net/patriotic-half-store-card/
There use to be a moderator at this site that was setting up a really informative site specifically for CWT that was very knowledgeable. He has stepped away from doing it though and hasn't responded when I've reached out to him in the last year. (I think stepping away was work-related.)
Paul, at the forum for Coinhelpu, is the CONECA state Rep for Wisconsin and a long time collector you might find helpful as well.

NGC has 5 different ones listed. Some have Indiana wall & window paper too. Still WM. Brooks

Didn't realize there were multiple ones with WM BROOKS. Thanks. I'm busy with diapers so please keep an eye out if you ever see one listed. Thanks.

A really nice example, I must say! Good luck if you pursue it.
