If you look up the cert number on the PCGS web site it claims the coin is only worth....$75 ! LOL. I do not know of this collector/collection but he would have beaten a lot of folks if he played the registry game. At first I thought it was the other Hansen - Andy - not Del Roy but his varieties were mostly from AU Hobby - who sold his set to Hansen just last year and then Hansen turns around adds his stuff - shoots to #1 and in May, retires all his Lincolns except for proofs. And these coins were not part of either of those collections. So like I said, if this guy played the registry game he would have been up among those top 3 sets. But not everyone does play and thats ok as I am sure many spectacular sets are not for view. Now, let me draw up those second mortgage papers so I can bid on some of this stuff. Just Kidding ! But I know who will be in the dog fight to buy some: This set

Same here Jon.
Just for the fun of it though, I bid early on the 42 DDO knowing others would be there to put me in my place. LOL
Thanks for that insight Bob. It's fun to look and oogle without having to worry about actually coughing up the dough.
A couple of years ago Ebay had an auction (Texas Unclaimed property were the sellers) that had two of these and one of the "IN" varieties from 1983 in one lot (slabbed by NGC I think in 64/65). I tried for the fun of it but that lot went for north of $7,000. I wish I'd saved that auction info and images. The slabs may have even used "Breen" Numbers

The 1911D RPM bums me out. I have to a 64 BN that PCGS price guide lists at 1750.
But damn, an extra $215 for fees added on? Wtf?

Crazy good?
I missed a tidbit in my haste to post this thread. I found out from a friend that the 1910-s is mis-attributed. The coin in the auction is the far more common FS#502.

Crazy as in it went for more than double what I paid for the same grade 2 years ago. Which brings me back to my initial question - who the heck was the owner of the Bellewood collection? - Doug Wright, he did win Top set in 2015
