Error or PMD (Rim of 1923 Wheat Cent)

    Additional Information
    Date: 1923

This is likely PMD (Post Mint Damage) where someone smashed this 1923 wheat cent against another coin that had large lettering.

Note: the anomaly is raised (not inset).

    What do you think?

I agree with you about being damaged even though parts of it are raised. It almost resembles a diamond plate pattern.

I've found similar ones that piqued my interest as well. I couln't tell what caused it but it was raised also.
