I never thought of proofs having different planchets. Guess it would make sense. Polish the die and have premium plantches to bring out the shine. No one wants a bumpy 1980s proof Lincoln. Some of those 1980s business strikes have some serious playing issues. Great looking coin Brad. I don't know enough about certification companies to answer your question though.

Yes, the Lincoln proof planchets are specially prepared by polishing them much more than the standard, business strike planchets.
