    1954-D/D/D RPM #5?

    Additional Information
    Date: 1954
    Variety: RPM
    Mint: Denver
    Coneca: RPM-005
    Wexler: WRPM-007
    Coppercoins: 1MM-005

A little stumped on this one, appears to be RPM #5 and has the die markers on the obverse but the die scratches on the reverse seem to be going in the opposite direction. Could the reverse die have been swapped out at some point?

The mintmark placement does not lead me to believe this is RPM-004. It appears from your photos that your specimen is too far west, but that could be just from the angle the photo was taken.

As far as the reverse die being changed, that could indeed happen at any time. Having checked what I could, there is no documented cases of the reverse die being changed on this variety.

I would agree that the mm on yours appears to be a tad further west that on that of #5 [and straight up]. Yours does look good for being a triple.

Though using my phone to compare adds a bit of difficulty and I could be completely wrong.
