    1985 Mated pair of lincolns

This is proably one of my favorite Lincoln Errors.

This is a 1985 Dual Dated Mated Pair. The coins weigh 5.0 Grams.

This type of error is not very common as they do not usually escape from the mint and when they do come up for sale there is alot of heavy bidding. Prices can escalate quite dramatically at an auction for any Mated pair.

This coin can also be found up to multiples being bonded together. In the Error Encyclopedia by Margolis & Weinberg there is mention of a 100 such cents stuck together, being used as a paper weight by a Mint official.

I do not want to ever have this coin encapsulated (Proably to deep)as it makes an interesting study piece. So enjoy!!!!!

I want to take the opportunity to say "THANK YOU" to Brad, Staff and all of the fine participants of this Forum at LCR. If it weren't for you and your posts and comments I would have nothing to say.

And Most of all "Thank You" for letting me share my Collection with you.

1985 was proably found in a mint sealed bag or came from a counting/rolling facility. Thank you for the comments.
