Error Other | Hey Guys, a question from another forum one a Lincoln

I got his permission to post this. He's from Coin Talk. Here's the link to the thread and the gist of his question:

I'm really sorry about not having pics but I don't have the capability yet to show what I'm asking about. I'm wondering if any cent searchers have...

I'm really sorry about not having pics but I don't have the capability yet to show what I'm asking about. I'm wondering if any cent searchers have found, on the reverse left side of the shield, three distinct marks that look like possible die gouges. If anyone has, and can post a pic for me and then possibly give me some idea of what this anomaly might be, I would be very grateful. I have found dozens of these, so they are common, but it's not about value but some definitive answer. Thanks so much. Tom

    Thanks very much!

I wonder specifically where on the shield they are. I can tell you this: die chips and cracks and VERY common on the top of the shield. We won't be able to tell if they are chips or gouges without a picture, but even if they are gouges, it probably wouldn't be anything too special, unless they are very pronounced.

Why don't you just post the link to here in the other thread or invite him to join us here?

I believe they are die abrasions... I have seen quite a few with abrasions in that area and similar (best I could tell with the pic that was posted) to the ones on OPs coin... They also appear off the NE of the shield!!!

Oh good, I see he posted a picture. It is just some random die damage, like the OP surmised.
