So, are the lines looking raised?
Like it might be caused by the die surface?
They do look to be raised. When I first started messing with this one I used a toothpick to check it, a little too abrasively I might add. It appears to be raised and copper. I think soaking my help the situation, which I should have done to begin with.

This is one that may benefit from stacking or a 3D once soaked.
Jim, What say you?
Was out fishing all day yesterday and could not weigh in on the discussion. After seeing the close-ups I still say it is not psd (at least not purposeful psd). If it is not something adhered to the coin (soaking in acetone might tell) I would lean toward damaged or faulty plating.

Damage even though the lines appear to be raised in the last images?
(Did you throw that mention of fishing in there to brag?
Because I notice Roger has been posting recently.)

Yes, to brag (some).
Because I notice Roger has been posting recently.)
Yes, partially to tease Roger. Glorious day in Miami yesterday. Morning temp in the 60s and low 80s during the day with a nice breeze all day. Picture of sunrise on Biscayne Bay as we put in.
If the anom is adhered to the coin it would be raised (that's why I'm suggesting the acetone bath) if it is not adhered, the cracks or crinkling may have developed after the strike (possibly because of a thin plating that did not take well to the force of the strike). Just theorizing here. I doubt that anyone can definitively state the cause and in that vein I should not have originally opined the this "could not be PSD". Mea culpa.
I would soak it in acetone. This could easily be a dried(probably sugary) substance on the coin.
That was my original plan but decided to go a little easy on it at first. Dropped it in the sonic cleaner before I left for work. We'll see this evening if it's worth sending to anyone.

Nice catch and beautiful pics!! I'm a little jealous of you Floridians. Got my beach trip cut short by a hurricane this year and no fishing before we left.
