I would say PMD but the markings to the east of the O are odd, they looked raised. Let's see what other input we might get. I'm not sure.

Definitely PSD.
That raised area next to the circle is probably a pressure ridge. Caused by the metal being displaced and forced outward and upward.

That's so cool that your daughter is helping you search through Lincolns! The circle at VDB doesn't really strike me as being a counter-stamp. But the definition and photo link is below. I wonder if maybe someone was trying to make a hole to put the coin on a key chain or something? If only our Lincoln's could talk and tell us about their journey... especially a 1909!

Counter-stamp: A coin that had a additional design intentionally punched into its surface after it was struck. There are many different examples of this found on Lincoln cents, including masonic symbols, cigars, the outline of U.S states, and many others. This is considered a form of post-strike damage, but many find these collectible.

All 4 of my kids are hooked. My 14 and 11 year old daughters, 9 and even my 3 year old son loves the hobby. They get so excited when I bring home a brick of pennies that they automatically leave their iPhones and Xbox consoles.

Awesome you got the mini-mes helping you out... I'm in with the PSD on both... Hard to tell for sure with the 9 as the close up is to blurry and the full obv pic looks to be at an angle??? The rev looks like some one was going to punch a hole to make a good luck penny necklace then realized it was a V.D.B.???

I was thinking the same. If they continued and popped out that punch it would be perfect orientation to hang as a pendant.
