Couldn't find it in my 65th Edition Redbook. Isn't the word transitional used improperly in the seller's listing? I've never heard of a different mint mark style being called a Transitional cent.

Better check again...I'm using the 65th edition too.....as for the word "transitional", that is a bit of hype, but not really inaccurate...it can be used anytime there is a change....1941 was known for the large and small S...read page 20.

Thank you Roger, found it on Pg 20 of the Red Book! I thought the term transitional only applied to dies that were intended to be used for another year. So in the case of the 1941 the way it is worded in the Red Book sounds like an intentional change. Sorry to be so picky with the terminology, just trying to understand

Nothing wrong with learning,Viv. But this is a good example of something Bob is passionate about....let's make sure we don't bash sellers without doing our homework.....the seller's ratings and amount of sales were enough to warrant further investigation by any of us......questioning is fine, but let's be careful in the future...and keep in mind it could even be a fellow member
