1972 P quarter overweight?

It could be from a rolled thick planchet. The normal weight for a clad quarter is 5.67 grams +/- 0.227 grams. So your coin is not that much over and within tolerance. As far as the extra leaf, the circulation makes it difficult to tell for sure, but I am sure it is not a doubled die and probably just circulation damage.
