Thread: My woody

  1. lolol..Now that I got your attention. Not sure if this would go here for terminology but just found this "Woody"

I love these things. Not much of a premium if at all but I love them!. I have a couple pages in an album devoted to these and toners.

Whats the correct terminology? Something to do with the alloy?

This is how I listed it in the glossary.
Improper Alloy Mixture: During the copper alloy planchet era (pre-1982), there were instances of errors in the alloy mixture which resulted in planchets which show different ribbons of color in them, often resembling wood grain. These cents are often referred to as “wood-grain cents,” or “woodies.”

Nice example. There was a huge thread of people posting these. Here it is: http://www.lincolncentforum.com/foru...ody%2C+let%27s
