Here is an example of a 1967P Lincoln Memorial Cent (obverse).
The "R" in "IN GOD WE TRUST" looked like it had a bit of machine doubling underneath, but at closer magnification, it appears to have a small die chip and lots of die deterioration (fatigue).

This could be regular circulation wear, but die deterioration is a pretty safe guess as well. This is a case where there is too much magnification. Do you have a pic of TRUST you can post. It'll give us a better idea.
