    1957 DDR-017?

    Additional Information
    Date: 1957
    Variety: DDO
    Mint: Philadelphia
    Coneca: DDR-017

My first wheat variety in a BWR. 1957p DDR-017
I think but maybe a later stage because of the large die chip in the top bar of the 5 of the date.

Just wish it was easier to tell which one. The circulation doesn't make it any easier.
Thanks for looking and any comments/insight. Cliff

Not that I have developed any real strengths in Lincoln varieties yet but wheats would be at the bottom if I did. Hopefully some of the guys that are more wheat familiar will be able to discern between the circulation and doubling. Without markers, it's even tougher. Hope you have something though!

    Thanks Jon.
Not a biggie at all but being my first wheat variety pulled from a regular old bank roll, I'd like to get a definitive # for it.

Circulation is definitely messing with this one, plus being a later stage if it is VV's -017.
If you compare the outside of the wheat ears at the base you can see it is slightly wider than the inside wheat line.

I'm not much help on these Cliff, but seems like if it were a later die state you would have the die crack and die chips on the right wheat that are shown on VV's 017 and Coppercoins 002 LDS

I think you are right Viv.
Somehow I missed that CC-002 crosses to VV-017 and CC has better images and markers (which mine doesn't have).
It may just be too circulated to determine!

Maybe so Cliff. Have you tried an acetone bath? Sometimes a little soak will help markers show up better even when the coin has a lot of circulation wear.

That does look interesting but not 017... The MM location is off Did you look at VVs 013 http://varietyvista.com/01a%20LC%20D...957PDDR013.htm That looks a little closer to what you have... With the circ wear on yours we may never know for sure unless there are some markers???

    You're right Jim. Really off.
I'll look at DDR-013 for markers.
