    1970 Canadian cent doubled 7?

What do you guys think of this cent? I found one that kind of resembles it on coins and Canada. IMG_6937.JPG IMG_6946.JPG IMG_6900.jpg IMG_6901.JPG IMG_6907.jpg IMG_6908.JPG IMG_6910.jpg IMG_6912.JPG IMG_6913.JPG IMG_6915.jpg

Sheila, I hopped on Coins and Canada but could not find anything on the 1970 cent. Everything I'm seeing looks like MD though. Can you put a link direct to what you see on Coins and Canada?

Once you get on the site, go to Canadian coins. Then go to price guide values. Then go to the 1970 cent. Then click on the doubled date.

Is this what you are refering to? (http://www.coinsandcanada.com/coins-...-1989#erreur-8) If so the zero is completely different. I think yours is MD but we'll see what the pros have to say.

Yes, but I was just talking about the bottom side of the 7. Also, if you look at many of the doubled dies in the Canadian cents, they look like MD compared to the lincoln cents and the US coins.

Yes I have actually noticed that before. I think the Canadian cent devises are not as thick as the Lincoln cents are and that makes it tougher to tell the difference. At least that's how I see it. We'll see what the pros say later.

Did you notice the tail on the side of the bottom right side of the 7? That is what is getting me the most.

Sheila, that is displaced metal from the bottom of the seven. Look at the bottom of the seven and you can see a piece missing that is the same size as the piece below it.

I take that back. I went back and looked again and that is what the seven looks like but I think what you are seeing is just a chip.
