They appear too sharp to be clash marks and they do not have the attributes of die chips. They look almost identical in shape. Something damaged the die.

I agree they are identical in shape and not chips.
I don't have the smarts to say something damaged the die but you've been right about a lot of things...I'll take your word on it.

They look almost like trails??? Can there be trails from the rim like that???

I found this and it brought to mind this first post.
They are gouges, not chips or clash markings. It is the end points that are alike.
