View Full Version : Found my first RPM!

Was going over some steel cents yesterday, so I decided to check the mintmarks on them (thought I already did, but I did again for the heck of it). On one of them, I noticed a strong RPM over the D, directly North of it. Going on coppercoins, the only one that seems to be like it is the 1943D-1MM-014, but they have no picture of it. Does anyone have any pics of it that they can find to compare? I will try to get some pics later, not too good yet at snapping mintmarks though. But I will try my best. Thanks for looking!

I don't have an example of that RPM, but I look forward to seeing pics when you get them up. I'm sure someone here can post pics.

Very tough coin to locate, Not many I know have that one....
Phoenix you may want to try to find a copy of "The RPM Book" Second addition by Dr James Wiles of CONECA. There is a picture you can use for reference there. The Book has been out of print copies for a while, so there becomming quite pricey. If you find one for under $30.00 don't pass it up.. Original price was $24.95, but lately weve seen prices from $60-$100 in auction.

I've been waiting on my copy. If they don't print more I'll be forced to bootleg me a copy and send Wiles a check for the rights. I just asked him about having it available on E book. Will let you know when I hear.

Steel cent RPMs are in demand. And RPM#14 is on many want lists.
RPM# 15 is a similar D/D North. Still looking for that one...

Will try to get some decent pics tonight, not too sure if I can of the mint mark though, but I can always try. I've been looking for that RPm book, but no cigar really yet, lol. I think I did find one though priced at $36 or something, but didn't grab it. Will have to try to find it again. Thanks for the replies so far!
