Something on his lap and Chips

This penny is crappy. But I'm asking anyway. There is massive plating around the memorial and legend on Reverse.

Also, there are die chips everywhere on this cent.

On Linc's lap it looks as though he is holding something there. It looks like a "V"

My pics aren't the best, but I can't seem to capture anything much better than what I have here.

What do you guys think?

Die chips everywhere? More probably gas bubbles. Can't chip everywhere too easily! The only thing that interests me is the statue. There might be a doubled knee there, but I'm not sure.
