1952 - PMD or something else

Hello - new here - found this today in a bunch of unsearched wheaties I got recently and wondering if it is PMD or something else - used my scanner for the 2 pics - I think they are usuable. I dont have a macro lens for my DSLR but keep meaning to get one -- maybe this push that need up

it looks to me like part of the 2 has been sheared off somehow so it looks like a 7 but the remaining part of the 2 looks squished down kind of how machine doulbling looks to the pictures I have seen - could this be the result of the die shifting or PMD? other thoughts?

    Thanks

    Steve

Cant really tell from the pics, might just be a well placed hit, but I think better pics would be needed to give any kind of answer. But maybe one of the experts can tell. Welcome!

Yes looks like post strike damage maybe from a coin star machine, coin counter etc. better photos would help with a better answer.

thanks - think I will get a macro filter to play with until I can get a proper macro lens - at least it is a lens I always wanted

It is a hit on the 2 of the date, but by all means, play with the photography a bit. Some of our members here get progressively better each time they post a pic, and it is nice to see the progress made.

ok - here is probably about as good as I can get using the scanner - zoomed in a little- will look at a closeup filter for my camera until i can get a proper macro lens

A bit better on the pic's, and agreed that the 2 took some sort of hit along the way! Good Pickens!

thanks all - definitely time to save up for a macro lens - also been reading about USB microscopes - might be fun to play with
