Is this what you call a repunched mark mint?

I can't see the picture close enough to make a decision, but based on the date I would imagine it is the broken mintmark punch for that year.

I know, I'm sorry about the picture. I had to scan it in this time. Thanks though.

Lara,
What brand of scanner are you using... Most come with a user interface where you can size the scanning area and place it where you want... Also they allow you to edit the pixels of the item you are scanning in... You still haven't gotten your BB to work yet???

Lara, Can't see the MM but are you referring to what looks like a split on the lower serif? If so, that's a damaged punch and not an RPM. Almost all the 1979-D's have this.

The 1979D has this notch anomaly on the SE corner of the D on a lot of the mintmarks. They're not RPMs, but in a way "pseudo-RPMs." Not sure if this is what you're referring to in the picture, but I've seen a bunch of these "pseudo-RPMs."

The picture is not clear but I can't see the tell tale broken punch mark on the lower serif. I do see something resembling a split serif on the top of the D. If, indeed, there is a split there then I believe you have an RPM.

Yes I believe it is on the top and not so apparent on the bottom

If is on the top then it does have potential...the broken punch would be a lot more apparent I realized...I stand corrected by my former comment!! Hope it's an RPM...

I hope this pic may help some. It really sucks but I tried my best to get in as close as possible and inverted the colours etc.

Let me know if this show is/was any better than my scan.

Thanks,

Lara

It may be my vision but I can not tell due to the colors... Try gray scale or regular color... Unless someone else can see the RPM... Sorry Lara!!!

I know the pictures is just horrible. I think I've given up asking about coins on here until I get properly set up. There really isn't any point in asking for advice and expertise if I cannot display a proper example.

Just gotta wait I suppose...

Don't you dare give up... Your worse pic is better than my best... I just wish I had some extra digital camra equipment to send you... Have you given up on trying to transfer the pics from your BB???
