Since I cannot take a overview of any coin within close images my pictures never look right. But I was wondering how thick would the scratch have to be on the reverse of a 72 004? I do not think the pictures to which I have provided make the cut. Would close ups even need to be necessary?

For one; the "scratch" is not post mint damage like yours. It results from scratches in the die face probably from polishing (that's a euphenism) by a mint worker. For another; the scratch is not in the right place. Your coin is PMD. MHO

While I have only seen 2 examples of a reverse of the '72 die 4, I can say the scratches, to me, were rather obvious in person and not really mistakable...so, in other words, the example posted is not a reverse of die 4 unfortunately...
