Error Other | What happened to this 1955 Penny?

Hello everybody, I was hoping I could get some opinions as to what happened to this 1955 penny(type of error(s)?) and a general approximation of its potential value on the error penny market? The letters are all screwed up on the reverse of this coin and it looks to me like they just used the die until it was literally falling apart, but I could be wrong. The F, the A, the U, a couple of the E's are particularly out of shape. There are some minor signs of doublimg on the obverse, mostly in WE TRUST. I know it is not the rare double die 1955, but perhaps someone know which die this actually came from....Please take the time to help me out here. I am actually going through a five gallon gallon jug filled with pennies my MOM has been saving for a very long time. Going to split anything I find with her 50/50. Hopefully there are a few real prizes in there!

I agree, this is not a doubled die coin. It suffers from rot and damage.

Alot of worn die issues and PSD... No DD though!!!

There is a lot of damage to both sides of the coin. What you should do is to pick out some of the coins in better condition to begin your search and then submit pics of those. If they display some type of error or variety you can expand your discussion. This will help to encourage you to continue your searches. You have a darn big pail to complete, so get inspired. Thanks for sharing, I know you may have something good waiting to be discovered.
