Been a while, I wanted to say hi and see if anyone has any ideas on how this happens, or if it's worth hanging on to?? Both obv. and rev. edges of the rim are "tapered". My first thought was circulation damage, but it is perfectly symmetrical all the way around the coin. My apologies for the poor pictures, best I can do with a crappy Nextel and a magnifying glass :squigglemouth:

The coin has been milled outside the mint. The purpose behind this is to encase the coin into a good luck charm or something similar.

Not too sure, I've seen a few like that circulating also. Interesting! :tinysmile_classes_t

It simply looks like a normal, beveled rim/edge junction. The strike was not strong enough to flatten the edge completely against the working face of the collar.
