View Full Version : Rather Obscure Doubled Die Obverse

Found this one rather early this morning. This is my Third Example of this rather unknown Doubled Die Obverse.
The strong separation lines can readily be seen on the "LIBE" of Liberty and Extra Thickness of the Letters in Liberty. Some doubling can also be seen in the Top portions of the letters of the Motto.
Marker: Distinct Die Scratches below the letters "ER" in Liberty.

Very nice find. Doubling is distinct and easy to see. Another reason to pay attention to the whole coin and not just the obvious "biggie variety" which would be the doubled ear for this date. Thanks for sharing this Joe.

Nice find, I've been checking for those as well...found one with the doubling on the L, but lost it when my pc crashed and things got scattered around.
