I have my suspicions, but would like to hear some informed opinions. It looks distinctly different from all known RPMs for the year. Please let me know what each of you thinks!

It seems that I have seen something like this before somewhere but don't remember where or when. I think it's a hit, but of course I tend to look for the simple answers first.

I'm going out on a limb and saying 52D-1MM-007 with a hit...and I like crow, have a book of recipes for it :)

Could well be a hit, but perhaps worth noting- it seems that the shape inside the D is nearly the same proportions as the inverse shape to the left. Interesting?

That's true Chris, but the edge of a coin hitting at an angle could cause that too.I guess a coin is too large of an example but you get the idea.

Looks like a hit to me. What year is it?

This is a '52-D. Which RPM would you suspect if one assumes it's a hit? I was guessing #2, but that's just from memory. I've gotta check my book.

Chris, remember posting about why people need to match die markers ? This is a good example :D

It may not have been an rpm at all, just a violent hit on the mintmark. The other possibility is a die break, but that is not what it looks like.

I would go with a strong hit that coincidentally shows similarities to an inverted MM.

I do remember Maineman, markers eliminate question, when there is one. I question this piece.
