At first I was gonna say crack, but the last photo has me wondering if it is a lamination issue.

Looks like one to me. Somewhat worn.

Those are very prominent with wheats from the 50's. Capped skulls, cracked heads. Just a couple of common collector's names for these. The more dramatic ones are nice and a lot of collectors keep them. Just like the BIE's of the 50's too. It is a die break.
