View Full Version : 1980D MM (What do you think?)

Here is an example of a 1980D Lincoln Cent obverse.

At first I thought the "shadowing" was just plating-doubling, but the image to the north (and slightly to the east) does not mimic the primary mint mark (it is a little staggered).

What do you think?

Thanks for any comments...

It's not a plating issue (plating started in '82), but I am not sure if it is or isn't an RPM. Wait for Bob, Billy or BJ on this one...

I don't have an opinion on this one yet. It will require an in-hand examination.

Okay, I will send it off to you, along with another that I posted a while ago (possible DDR) that also needs to be "in hand".

No Problem Allan. Feel free to send them at any time. I finally have gone through the backlog caused when my scope and camera fried. Hopefully, with the newer set-up, my pics will get a bit better.
