Looks like it was hit with something while lying on a peice of cloth. It appears the rim is also effected on the obverse and reverse of the coin. Just my opinion.

The Front Looks Like PSD to Me, But The Back Looks Like Stuck Through Cloth! Nice Finds!

Agreed- the front looked promising, but the reverse clearly revealed the anomaly as damage. Worth holding onto as a reference piece. I've got dozens of altered coins from circulation, if I ever find someone with the ability and motivation, I'd love to help put together an informational website on different forms of PMD. Some can be very deceptive and I think it's an educational niche that's needed in our hobby. Anyone up for building a site?

I agree, at first the obverse was promising - except - the rim being flattened, which should not occur. The reverse of course gives it away as PSD/PMD.

I have some shots of deceptive PSD/PMD I will eventually use to make more educational tutorials...I just need more time or a bunch of interns/ free assistants.
