Here is an example of a troubled 1993D Lincoln Cent obverse.

Mr. Lincoln's nape, etc. appears to be poorly struck. Is this a "greaser"?

Looks more like an Overly Polished Die, Abraided Die I Believe Is What It's Called. Nice Find!:)

Yep. One or the other. Struck through grease or abraded die.

Mike,

I can understand abrasion that is so deep that it begins to eat its way into the incuse portions of the die, but it seems this would leave a very raised and obvious area on the struck coin. How can the incuse elements alone become abaded in such a manor that the only signs are lost details in the design?
