Hi Everyone. I just stumbled upon this one. These look Trails to me, But is it possible for so few devices to be affected or does it have to be a broader area? Your help is greatly appreciated. Tom
Really nice looking trails Tom. I'm not the trail expert but I think BJ and others would agree when I say that Yes, the trails can be limited to an isolated area or even a couple of devices and not necessarily effect the broader area.

I believe the rule for trails is "more than one", but I'm not real sure. These look a bit like trails, but not quite like trails. (I know... Not much help.) One of the trail guys will pop in, I'm sure. (Stay tuned and GL.)
There's a couple of trails listed that look like yours Tom. I don't know if they are the same as what you have but the numbers are
1999P-1DEO-006T, and 1999P-1DEO-019T.
Maybe you could check them out on the trails site and check for the markers.

Thanks Rock, I havent had a chance to search them all, There's a bunch of them. Thanks for the heads up! Tom
twoyankees, when you are searching, the direction of the trails in degrees are at the heading of each different attribution number so you don't need to search each one. For this one, you could skip everything that doesn't fall between 180 -270 degrees. My guess on this one would be 220 degrees so that's where I would focus. Just a time saver that BJ passed on to me a while back

Rock, no cigar on these two examples. Seems the trails on my coin are limited to the 1 and 9. But I also detected evidence of a very light trail from the bottom of the second 9. I'll keep looking. Tom
Yes, it is a trail die and I am elated at all the correct response that you received concerning this particular die.
As to the actual trail die, I believe it is a new one. I cannot remember seeing one similar for that year / mint. Nice find and it does look like there is a trail line on the second nine as well.
Thanks Lucien and BJ, and to all, I will contact BJ and send it in. How exciting and a cool thing. I'll let everyone know how it goes. Thanks Again Tom
