1964-D Doubled Eyelid..?

Hi All.

Stumbled upon what I'm hoping is a find of some sort. No similar DD's for this year and mint have been reported that I know of... and I recognize the odds when one considers that we are talking about a coin that's almost 50 years old, but take a look at the eyelid anyway (no arrows necessary)... and "let me have it". (LOL)

Yes, there is (what I believe to be) MD on the bridge of Abe's nose, but the spread is different. (FYI - There is MD throughout the profile of the cameo.)

Anyway... for your review and enjoyment...

I'm thinking better pics or an in hand exam are needed...just too much yellow to say anything with certainty.

Very interesting... It does appear to have an extra eyelid to the inside... This will most likely need to be sent in... I hope it is a new find... Congrats!!!

George it does look like you have a possible doubled eyelid here. I will double check. On further review
it does appear to be shelf-like so it may have to be counted as MD.

I would have to agree with it being MD as well. It does not have the characteristics of a normal class 4 doubled eyelid.

The bridge of the nose is a doubled die. The eyelid is two different sizes (not a mirror image).

The bridge of the nose is NOT a doubled die. It is reduction lathe doubling, or even part of the MD.

RLD... Thanks for the info Bob... I need to go back thru all the eyelid listings... LOL... I thought for sure it was a DD... Oh well... I will get it eventually... I hope... LOL!!!
