Unfortunately, I think this is another example of the heartbreak of MD (machine doubling). It is a fairly strong example, but it is simply machine doubling (no premium).

The majority appears to be MD but the tail of the 9 is interesting... It does not appear to be aligned with the MD on the top of the 9... The pics pixelated to much for me to really tell!!!

Quite a few good ones...MD selling as DDO, 70-S large dates selling as small dates...but that's why I didn't post a link, there are a bunch. I know this is a pet peeve of MBB

Well the good news is that it looks like there aren't many falling for it; the bad news is that unfortunately there are a few though who have swallowed the hook.

This seller could just be naive as we've all been at one time, but if he has any integrity he'll yank those listings asap.

BTW,
Thanks Penny.

Check his/her Buyer Feedback on eBay.

Some sucker fell for the large/small date schtick and stated the case.

It's one thing to sell stuff incorrectly when you're uneducated, but it is certainly another thing to continue to sell the same stuff when you have been educated.

I went back and reviewed all posts by this LCR member (there are 3 of them).

I rarely post opinions against coins, particularly if it's a first response, however, in each of the (above) 3 cases, I responded first. All three offerings were so obviously not error/variety examples.

Astro, you are correct and that's why I posted my little "alert"....the coin was posted, everybody replied MD, and he placed it for auction as a DDO....nothing really wrong with that until I looked at the rest of the auctions...some even including attribution numbers. This does nothing good for our hobby at all and in my book is as bad as counterfeiting because we now have a bunch of unaware collectors holding worthless coins.
