There is not evidence of abraison on the reverse. I suppose it could be a gouge or scratch but it looks very much like a partial column. There being only one DDR for this date listed on CC, I thought I'd post this one for a shot.

Since (I would think) you already ruled out a bubble, my guess would be gouge. There could definitely be other theories to be offered, though.
