2008 ear what if?

Supposing that the doubling was toward the SouthEast on the earlobe. Most of it would be obliterated by the prominence of the beard and jaw in that area? What would it look like? I don't know the answer but thease anoms have been haunting me for some time. Anyone have the analyses?

It doesn't have the right look for a doubled die. I tend to agree with Wendell, that it's an area polished off. This is rather common too for the area around the ear.

It appears the area there and along the beard and in the ear were smooth and flat at one time... I have several 2005s and other years with this smooth/flat area and some with the area abraded in order to hide it... Very interesting to say the least!!!
