Hello
I found this penny last night and it has a double looking D behind it showing on the east side of the D.

Also it looks like a long vertical line through the "1" very similar to what looks like DD? see pic - Very different looking than the MD's that I have found. This one is still very round, not flat.

Karahbell, when you zoom your pics they pixulate so much the pics are blurry. use a higher speed on your camera 1280 in fine and then crop your pics in photoshop. might give us a better idea. The first pic I do not see much, where is the extra mintmark supposed to be? Eric

Did this make a difference? Look at the outer east side of the mint, you can see a slight doubling?

It does look like it may be an RPM, and I think I even see a split serif on the D, the 1 looks like it took a hit.

Thanks for looking =) What is a split serif? Is that referring to a DD?

I lean toward mild machine doubling on the MM and the 1 of the date. Bigger pics could sway me the other way...

Have to agree with Jason...after thinking it over, I'm leaning toward MD but it's really tough to be 99% sure either way.

I will hold on to all these and look at them again when I have a microscope and better camera. thanks for looking everyone.
