I have a 2008P but unsure of this being a trail die. Need some help on this one. Your help is appreciated.

I don't see it, but those little buggers are difficult to capture in pics. I think I see what you may be referring to, but just don't see any (what we've come to identify as) trails.

Let's see what the pros think.

I wouldn't rule trails out just yet. Can I get a clearer pic of the coin...less color maybe?

I'll try shooting with natural lighting and see what's the result.

I see lines that in the right places, but cannot tell if they are raised and trail off or are something else...

Here is another image and I hope it is a little clearer:

Those do not appear to be trails. They do not all start on a device. I would suspect random striations or maybe abrasion scratches.

Some of the lines look right and others run between the letters and I think in at least one instance through the letter. Therefore, I'd say no to trails and yes to abrasion lines or scratches.

Thank you Bob that clarifies the analysis. I will look for some that are real trails.

It does look like some abrasion marks to me. I would have probably missed that. Good eye and keep looking

The new pic definitely looks like like abrasion lines. Keep up the searching!
