This looks a lot like it could be a Class 8 hub doubled die with an extra bar above the 2 of the date. Did a little research and found nothing to compare it with. Perhaps the anomoly is not hubbed doubling but it sure looks that way to me. Opinons anyone? Thanks for looking.

Also, I forgot to mention but I didn't find this.....My Wife did, along with the 1988 RDV-006 last night.

That looks very promising Rock - nice find and PM Bob if he does not chime in. I think Wexler might list a D and S that was similar to the P DDO-009, but I am not certain.

No doubt about it in my mind. It definitely is something I would like to examine and add to the site some time soon. Great find! Surprising I haven't seen one before.

Nice! Definitely a DDO. Looks like 1972-S WDDO-003 except for that terrible blatant D! Probably listed by Wexler somewhere, but not in the new Authoritative Reference on Lincoln Cents. Perhaps even he hasn't seen it. Probably new!

Ok Bob, sounds good. I know you are booked for a week or 2 so just let me know when it would be a good time to send it with a couple of other things. I'll send a pm to remind you in a week or so if that's ok.

Amazing.

I love it when a new DD is discovered on a coin that's 35 years old. It fuels our hope when examining "common cents".

Great find.
