View Full Version : [Example] two 2009 clashes (Professional Life)

I have determined and photographed two separate yet similar 2009 Professional Life (PL) Lincoln clashed dies and added them to www.MADdieclashes.com. Die 01 appears to be the more uncommon of the two Philly clashes. Die 02 appears to be the one that, at one time, was common on eBay. Neither are as strong as the 2009-D I listed last year.

The easiest way to discern the two from one another is to look at the bottom of the chin and Abe's upper lip. 01 has deep windows (almost en extension of his beard) below his chin; whereas 02 has windows clashed on his upper lip enhancing the mustache. 01 does not have clash marks on the reverse die (02 has marks) nor is their abrasion lines; 02 has abrasion lines but they may have been from an earlier clash and not the current one.

Finally the Denver version is at the bottom. ADC-1c-2009D-01(PL)

Very nice Jason. What I would really get a kick out of seeing is a die clash of a doubled die. Maybe one of these days.
