Hello everyone, my name is Jon and I have a Lincoln Cent problem. :)

I started collecting coins when I got a "job" at a coin shop (I think I was 13... anyway) and it has been down hill since.

I tell you what, since moving to North Carolina from Minnesota I've been really bored. I've taken to buying boxes of cents from the local banks, sorting them, recording dates/mint marks and searching for varieties. I'm at 80K searched so far :tinysmile_hmm_t: (for some reason my wife says I'm OCD, but I keep telling her I'm OCO... who ever heard of an obsessive compulsive person being disorderly?!)

For the curious here are some of the better finds in the 80K coins:
3 - 2000 Wide AM
11 - 1998 Wide AM
2 - 1997 DDO (Ear)
2 - 1995 DDO
1 - 1994 DDR
1 - 1987 Struck through a fiber obverse(right on Abe's noggin)
2 - 1984 DDO (The minor version not the full lobe)
1 - 1984 Obverse CUD
2 - 1983 DDO (Minor varieties if I remember correctly)
1 - 1983 Obverse CUD
1 - 1983 Counter Clash (Extra Letters)
1 - 1981 Obverse CUD
Oldest being a 1906 Indian Head Cent
Plus 11 Dimes

Anyway I look forward to discussing Lincoln cent coins with you all very soon!

Thanks
Jon

Those are some nice finds. Some of my family went to Fayetteville NC about two weeks ago. Bringing me back $100. Hope I find some of those NC varieties.

Jon, I know what you mean about cameras... took me awhile to determine what one I could actually afford to buy that would do something close to what I needed.
Does your camera have a macro setting? Do you use natural light as much as possible... no flash...? Sometimes I have to take many pictures before I find a suitable angle to show an anomaly.
Just a couple of hints.
