I know this is no cent but had to share this one. It's a 1oz silver round with a triple die obv/ rev VCR#2/DDO#2/ DDR#2.
DDO and a DDR. Love this coin.

I'll venture a guess and say that these were not minted by the U.S. Mint. (???)
Very cool tripling, though.

I'm not sure about that. Never gave it a thought. The US mint might of. Maybe some one else can answer.

No, they are not made by the mint and they are made by a private firm and are made this way as varieties or errors.
