Hope I did good on this purchase. I was fairly sure about it at the dealers shop but I didn't have my eyepiece with me. Can anyone tell me a guestamate grade this one may get. I didn't post a reverse photos but it is in better shape than the obverse. It is toned very evenly and the scratches that you see in the field are all die scratches however the obverse has several nicks or bag marks.
I guess the bigger question is, is this a small date. I am 99% convinced but looking for some confirmation. Never had one and looking to fill that hole.

It is small date for sure. No doubt. It looks AU58 or MS63RB in my opinion. Hard to tell the luster from pics.

The photo of the date is the best example of the luster or lack of. There are so many die scratches covering the coin I think it takes away from it.

Thanks Brad

I'm no grader but I agree with the 63... I also zoomed in on the date/MM and it appears to have notches on the upper/lower serifs or is it just the lite???

IMO I would go with MS62/63RB.

They usually have the die scratches, both of the ones I have in front of me do also. I agree with the rest small date.
Don't be heart broken if they 61-62 rd/br it Steve. I'd book it, don't waist the $$$$ on a slab, not worth it!

Small date alright, but from what I can see it would go AU.
