Now that's a real beauty! Congrats!

Did you pay extra for it, or was it a pure cherrypick? Looks possibly ms to boot! Nice work.

This one listed it as a ddo on the 2x2 in one of the pics, so not a true cherrypick, but I've got another coming in the mail, that was a true cherry, these #2's are my main focus. Most all come from E-bay, I'm closing in on 20 of them, check out my album!!! Enjoy!:tinysmile_twink_t:

Wow, 20 1909 ddo#2's?! That's darn commendable and my hat is off to you!

I can see how that's a good one to focus on for e-bay as the die breaks in the "B" of "Liberty" are pretty apparent.

I really love that coin. Thanks for posting it!

Very nice coin, and very rare too, did you say you have twenty of them, that might be a record for one person; The 1909 V.D.B. Doubled Die Lincoln cent is the first doubled die variety in the Lincoln cent series. There are atleast two different doubled die varieites for this year.

For the 1909 V.D.B. Doubled Die Type 1, the doubling is most prominent on the date, specifically on the first three digits. Also on the word Liberty, with the most dramatic doubling being on the last three letters of the word Liberty.

The 1909 V.D.B. Doubled Die Type 1 is not as dramatic as the 1917, 1936 Type 1 or 1955 Doubled Die's. However, the doubling is prominent enough to see with the naked eye. The 1909 V.D.B. Doubled Die Type 1 is also more available than the 1917 and 1936 Doubled Die, but not as availabe as the 1955 Doubled Die.
