While looking for 1936 dd's, I came across this coin. I assume the line under LIBERTY happened after production but I'm curious if anyone has any comments.

Very likely post mint damage, but what a way to make a statement about freedom!
I don't know for sure.. such a straight and seemingly deliberate line.
Wish I could help you with attribution, but I find these ddo's to be something quite mysterious unless they actually hit me over the head and tell me what they are.

No doubt that it is post mint damage. Could have happened about anywhere, and with anything sharp enough to gouge the copper.
