It looks to me that the ball of the serif along with the little "break" is on the bottom of this mintmark, but wanted some opinions since there's so much wear and a couple of different mintmark styles for the date. So what do you guys think?

That's not the correct mintmark style to be the IMM.

Sorry to say it is not one. Here's a picture of my 1946 inverted S. I have a mix on this coin.
Going up on auction soon.

it was hard for me to tell...i guess the space between the serifs and the body of the s are too small? when it's all worn down I'm always questioning myself...plus the serif s and the ball serif s look so similar to me
